How can I pray for you?

“May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

The commanded prayer.

The Ethiopic version renders the words, “pray frequently”; do not leave off praying, or cease from it through the prevalence of sin, the temptations of Satan, or through discouragement, because an answer is not immediately had, or through carelessness and negligence, but continue in it, and be often at it… These words are opposed to the practice of such, who either pray not at all, or, having used it, have left it off, or who only pray in a time of trouble and distress, and bear hard on those who think they should not pray but when under the influences of the Spirit, and when his graces are in a lively exercise: the reason for this rule of praying with frequency and constancy is, because the saints are always needy, they are always in want of mercies of one kind or another, and therefore should continually go to the throne of grace, and there ask for grace and mercy to help them in time of need.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies, but test everything; hold fast what is good. Abstain from every form of evil.
1 Thessalonians 5:16-22 (ESV)

So there was this crazy storm a-happenin’,

and it’s been keeping me awake for like an hour. I was sort of enjoying it, laying here, watching the flashes through my window, counting the seconds before the thunder. Until it got really fast, really flashy, and really loud. Like, 10 second rolls of thunder.

“God, I know I don’t have much rapport with You lately, but I know You’re faithful when I’m not, and I just ask that You keep all the people and property safe, but let Your will be done.”

I didn’t even notice at first, but within the next minute, it had almost completely stopped.

(This was something I typed up one morning that for some reason I didn’t share. I’m sharing it now in hopes that it will edify others and bear witness to the fact that Jesus is good and worthy of honor.)

angelately asked: Hey guys! First of all, I just want to say that I love this blog and your purpose-keep up the good work :) Also, could you please say a prayer for my sister, Bethany? She will be boarding a plane in China in an hour to come back to the U.S.- it's a super long flight and she is prone to getting really bad migraines. So, I would like for people to join me in prayer for safe travels and great health-It would mean the world to me.
Sincerely, Angela

Angela, we can totally be praying for traveling mercies for your sister Bethany! The LORD provides and protects!
